Happy Holidays From Raptor Water Polo

Happy Holidays From Raptor Water Polo

As the holiday season speeds ahead, the Board of Directors and Staff of Raptor Water Polo wish you and your family a joyous holiday season and a prosperous new year.  We are all truly overwhelmed with your support. This past weekend we saw a glimpse of the good things to come: our 16u boys team competed in the Green Division of the Commerce Holiday Invitational and took 2nd place out of 18 teams.  Raptor took a tough loss in the Championship Final to Seattle, Washington’s Northwest Water Polo Club to earn a silver medal in our very first Club Tournament! We are all extremely proud of our boys and wish to thank our parents for a SOLID turnout at the Championship game.

As we hope to continue to grow our club, we hope that you would keep us in mind as you spend time with your families and friends this holiday.  Attached is a flyer for our first session that begins January 4th. Is there anyone in your family or circle of friends that you think might enjoy learning to play Water Polo?  We are really hoping to expand our youth program all the way down to the 10 and under level.  Any referrals that you might be able to give on our behalf would be most appreciated.

Lastly, our website is up and running. Our practice and games calendar have all been uploaded, You can check us out at www.raptorsports.org.  Specific times and locations will immediately be updated as soon as we get them from tournament/league organizers.  You can also get information on the “remind app” we are setting up for the club.

I think that about does it for now.  Here’s to a safe and joyous holiday for you and your family,

Yours,

Raptor Water Polo Takes Silver Medal at 2015 Commerce Holiday Invitational

The Raptor Water Polo Club took to the pool at Montebello High School on Saturday, December 19th for its’ very first tournament: 2015 Commerce Holiday Invitational.  Over the weekend, the Raptor 16u boys team took 2nd place out of 18 teams from across the region in the Tournament’s “Green Division.”  After starting off with a perfect 4-0 record, Raptor took a tough loss in the Championship final to Seattle’s Northwest Water Polo Club. Despite outstanding efforts from Team Captain Connor Winkler and Goalie Carson Brenner, Northwest prevailed 10-8 to take the Championship home to Seattle.  The staff at Raptor Water Polo is very proud of our boys and thrilled to have such a great result for our very first tournament. We are looking forward to MANY more to come! Happy Holidays!
