Health and Physical Benefits*
Water fitness and athletics traditionally offer its participants a vast amount of physical benefits. The added resistance the water offers kicks every workout up a notch, providing both an aerobic and anaerobic workout in the process. Below are the health and physical benefits of participating in water polo:
- Increased Endurance- Water polo players can swim upwards of 5 kilometers in a game
- Weight Loss- Players can burn up to 700 calories per one hour of play
- Improved Cardiovascular Health
- Improved Strength
- Easy on Joints- The water act as a cushion on joints and muscles, preventing injury and general aches and pains associated with traditional fitness
- Increased Flexibility
- Body Toning
The Raptor Sports school is looking to expand our younger group of water polo athletes by offering a free two week trial. This is for any student athletes that will be between the ages of 8 and 12 as of August 1, 2016. Athletes must be members of USA Water Polo. (New athletes may opt to take advantage of the special two week trial membership at www.usawaterpolo.org to take part in the Raptor program). Prospective athletes must have previous swimming experience. This is a great way to come and learn a new game in a fun, relaxed atmosphere at no cost. At the conclusion of the session, student athletes may choose to continue on with the program at a reduced cost for remainder of this calendar session
